Bryan Coultish passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness at Hull Royal Infirmary on Saturday 12 June, a few days short of his 80th birthday. He had been the parish’s street cleaner for many years. Chris Newsome believes that his love for the job led him to work three times the hours he was actually paid for, going out to work at dawn and in all weathers.
In retirement he was busier than ever. He cut the grass for “the old people” of the village, some of whom were younger than him. He continued to keep the neglected areas of our village tidy, including the public flower beds. He was very much appreciated by all of his community.
Bryan’s funeral will take place at Gilberdyke Methodist Church on 4th October at 1:30pm, followed by a cremation at Haltemprice Crematorium at 2:30pm.
