Notes of Public Meeting to discuss plans for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Over twenty people attended the meeting, including five Parish Councillors and the Gilberdyke War Memorial Hall Committee.

Councillor Helen Stevens chaired the meeting and began by outlining her initial thoughts before asking for ideas from the floor.

  • Scarecrow trail
  • Street party on Memorial Hall playing field, bring your own gazebo and BBQ
  • Live music
  • Fancy dress, through the years of The Queen’s reign, and as a Royal
  • Village Show, competitions for jam, cakes, miniature gardens
  • Bunting making and placing around the village
  • Raffles, tombolas, hook-a-duck, face painting
  • Local business stalls on the field
  • Entertainment for all ages
  • Classic car show and parade
  • Tractor parade
  • Bring your own food and share
  • Food carts
  • Craft events

Saturday 4 June, 2:00 pm start time

Opportunity to continue event inside War Memorial Hall if weather is poor and/or after sunset

Initial funding will be provided by the Parish Council

Next meetings to be held in the Main Hall, War Memorial Hall on:
